...and wins!

I love my hat collection...

and my guy. The game was fun. We had amazing seats

and Jason almost got us a foul ball. So close!

It was about 90 degrees for the whole game, but we were in the shade and it felt perfect to me.

I love our baseball tradition!

The "board" part of the trip

We headed to the river today. Coincidentally, the place we needed to go was only a few blocks from Georgetown Cupcake. Of course we had to go; then we enjoyed our cupcakes on the grass by the river.

The boys ran off some of their sugar at the "meditative" labyrinth,

before we headed to pick up our paddle boards.

I realize those are kayaks, but they were more picturesquely displayed than the paddle boards. Here we are on the boards.

Now we're at the hotel getting ready to head to the Nationals game. Yay!

Wow, DC does fireworks!

We sat here

with a view of this.

Spencer did this to stay out of the sun.

The Memorial looked amazing in the night sky.

And, the fireworks were incredible.

Happy Fourth of July.

The parade and Air & Space

We started the day with the parade down Constitution Avenue right by the Archives.

We saw Kaele (my cousin's daughter) in the parade.

Then we headed to the wonderfully air conditioned Air & Space Museum.

Spencer was especially interested in the space section,

and the boys loved doing the simulator!

White House, Memorials, & more museums...by bike

Look whose house we passed on the way to the bike shop.

From there we headed to the Renwick Museum, then to pick up our bikes for the day...right next to this place (zoom in and read the sign above the door).

Riding bikes was a great plan.

We covered a lot of ground and saw the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial,

rode through the FDR Memorial,

and on to the Jefferson Memorial,

before heading to the National Art Gallery.

I especially liked these.

And I also liked these.

Lincoln, the archives, & more

After our morning pick-me-up at Georgetown Cupcake,

we headed to the Lincoln Memorial.

Jason was able to get a little work done,

while the boys and I snapped a few of the obligatory shots.

This next one wasn't one of the typical obligatory ones.

Next we headed to the WWII Memorial,

then on to meet my brother and his family to tour the National Archives...where we could take no pictures. Here it is from the outside.

We made up for the lack of pictures when we got to the Sculpture Gardens.

On our way back to the hotel we passed this really cool church.

Yet again, a good day. You can tell from these happy faces...
